During our planning sessions at the beginning of the year, the SVR Board decided that our charity focus would establish an ongoing program to provide scholarships to local students pursuing degrees in automotive technologies. To support this charity goal, we held our 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament on October 27th with eighty-eight golfers participating in a fun-filled day at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville. Our title sponsors, Porsche Rocklin and Porsche Sacramento, offered a new 2025 Porsche Macan as the prize for any golfer that got a “Hole-in-One” on hole #8. Unfortunately, we did not have anyone take home the new Macan!

In addition to the participating golfers, we received great financial support from several SVR club members and Board members! Additionally, we had 37 local and national business sponsors make generous donations to the event. After the golfers finished their round, a delicious lunch was catered by Sierra View Country Club, where golfers discussed their day on the course and how close they came to almost winning the Porsche Macan. During lunch, John Leet (our SVR president) made a few comments about the club’s charity focus and also invited Roy Ingram from Sierra College to say a few words about the automotive programs at Sierra College. Prizes were given to the first, second and third place low scoring teams, the longest drive for both men and women, straightest drive, and closest to the pin. Congratulations to all winners!
The day was a great success! We achieved our charity financial targets for the event and look forward to working with Sierra College and American River College to award the scholarships. And we look forward to another golf event in 2026!
