Exciting October Surprise Rally Traversed the San Joaquin Delta

The most recent rally in the series was the October Surprise Rally which traversed the Sacramento San Joquin River Delta.  The October Surprise had a total of 24 teams competing, of which 23 finished the rally.  While the weather was nice and the scenery from the levee roads along the sloughs and the Sacramento River was something that most had not experienced.  A road used to cross one of the islands was not in an acceptable condition for some.

The winners in Expert Class were Kent Langendorff and Steve Long with a total score of 314 through the 21 checkpoints used for scoring.

In Novice Class and Beginner Class, awards were presented to the top three finishing teams:

Novice Class: 1st Place – John and Kimberly McCarthy with a total score of 323, 2nd Place – Craig Marshall and Tom Panacci with a total score of 394, and 3rd Place – David and Mike Neff with a total score of 443.
Beginner Class: 1st Place – John and Carson Lambeth with a total score of 476, 2nd Place – Chris Malysiak and Matt Ruiz with a total score of 496, and 3rd Place – Mike and Kristi Harper with a total score of 506.

The final rally of the 2025 SVR Rally Series will be the Turkey Run Rally on November 15th

This rally is a little different from earlier events in that it is a traditional time-speed-distance rally for the first half switching over to Monte Carlo style rally for the second half.  The Turkey Run departs from Blue Oaks Town Center in Rocklin and travels through farmlands to loop around the Sutter Buttes. The finish is at Sutter Cut Pizzaria in Sutter.  Registration is on line via MotorSportReg.  See the flyer for complete details.
