Porsche Sacramento has been kind enough to clear their showroom and set up tables and chairs for a gala Club Christmas dinner on Sunday December 21st. We’ll be treated to Filet of Beef and Roast Salmon, all the fixings including a variety of desserts to pick from, and complimentary wine on each table. And our Voice of SVR host Kim Nelson will be MCing the event again. Don’t miss it. Register early. Last year we had to turn away folks with an early sell out.
Fix Auto in Lincoln has offered to host the New Years Tour meet up before we journey west to the Sacramento River and work our way up to the Hard Rock Casino in Wheatland for a restroom stop, then head over to skirt Camp Far West Reservoir south to Roseville for lunch at Catrina’s Cantina again. Was a popular lunch spot last year so why reinvent the wheel again …. a proven winner. We’ve run the Reservoir route a couple times over the past 3-years running northbound. This will be the first time running it southbound.
The annual Christmas tree decorating event at the California Auto Museum (CAM) is Sunday November 30th 2:00 PM followed by potluck at 4:00. Two trees to decorate. A write up about the event from Kim Nelson can be accessed by clicking on the link on the Club’s website event calendar for the event
Ok, so what’s the “King Crab”? At the upcoming CRAB 39 event we will crown the King (or Queen) Crab based on their finishing results in the Friday evening Crabkhana, the Saturday Autocross, and the Sunday Rally. What’s a Crabkhana you ask? Well, in short, it’s a low-speed parking lot event (held in the Hard Rock parking lot during the opening reception) testing the skills of the driver AND their partner. Hold the beach ball out the window as your passenger steers through the course …. Maybe you have to steer blindfolded while your partner gives you directions …..right, left, slow up, stop, back up, etc….. Bob Peake has his thinking cap on and is designing the course and tasks as we speak. More to come!
