The Sacramento Valley Region (SVR) of the Porsche Club of America will be hosting a series of time-speed-distance (TSD) road rallies that start at various locations within the greater Sacramento region. Prior to the first event of the series, SVR will have a Rally School which includes a classroom session to provide an overview of rally procedures including how to follow route instructions and an introduction to the Richta timing system. The Classroom session will be followed by a short practice rally. The regular events, which are scheduled for Saturdays with the first car departing at 9:31AM will typically be 90 to 120 miles in length and less than 4 hours in duration. The rallies will have reasonably easy to follow directions using mostly scenic low volume paved roads. Route instructions will be designed to be easy to follow for the beginning rallyist while at the same time proving some challenges or learning experiences for all participants. The schedule of events is as follows:
- Rally School – Porsche Rocklin – March 30
- Spring Flowers Rally – April 26
- Shenandoah – June 14
- August Challenge – August 16
- October Surprise Rally – October 11
- Turkey Run Rally – November 15
Details as to time and location for the Rally School along with start location and other information for the rallies will be posted to the SVR website. Registration for the rally school and rallies will be done using MotorportReg.com. The rally entry fee for each event will be $25 per car. Entry requires a street legal vehicle, a licensed insured driver, a navigator, and a mobile device (cell phone or tablet) running the Richta GPS Competitor app (app is free).
