• Please join me in welcoming Brandon Cheng as our new Drifter editor! Brandon transitioned into this rolle in March, and has now been officially appointed by the SVR Board at our recent board meeting.

SVR continues to be in a solid financial postition. Our target is to have events break even or have a slightly positive result financially, and our governance has been successful in achieving that. CRAB represents the single largest event expense and financial risk, and as we are close to the event, we have a good line of sight to the outcome remaining slightly positive. Event chair and VP Rick Duste has done an excellent job coordinating all of the details for this significant event and keeping it on a solid financial path.

SVR receives additional financial contribution from PCA National in the form of a pro-rata allocation of membership dues, as well as in the form of event subsidies for qualifying events. As a result of the financial report provided by treasurer Michael Born at our last meeting, the board has agreed to schedule an event later in the year that will be fully funded by the club to ‘give back’ to our devoted membership. We are gathering ideas for this event, so if you have something you would like to suggest, please reach out to me at president@pca-svr.org.

This year, we will also hold elections for many of the board positions. The nominating committee is being led by Collin Fat. If you have interest in serving the club in a board position, please reach out to Collin at cfat1952@gmail.com.
